12 and a half hours poured into the game so far, and this is everything that has happened:

Version 0.0 (2 hours):

  • Started a html project
  • added p5
  • Worked on the basics
  • created a grid
  • make clickable tiles in the grid
  • made a scared critter that runs from any clicks
  • made flags that can capture a critter
  • made a counter for critters
  • made a timer

Version 0.1 (4 hours):

  • Made some art and implemented it.
  • Added 2 new flag types.
  • Added flag counter.
  • Moved critter rendering under the unchecked tiles.
  • Added an indicator system dubbed hot and cold.
  • Randomized spawning of critters.

Version 0.2 (7 hours):

  • Fixed Critter stacking.
  • Used better art for critter counter.
  • Made 2 more critter AI's.
  • Made better art for timer.
  • Added a main menu.
  • Added the loss condition.
  • Added a play again menu.
  • Set up spaces for a "how to play" and "grid builder" menus.

Version 0.3 (9.5 hours):

  • Added the grid builder.
  • Uploaded to itch.io.
  • Found a critter spawning glitch.
  • Wrote out a simple how to play.
  • Added a dot for flag selection.

Version 0.4 (12.5 hours):

  • Fixed critter spawning glitch.
  • Added obstacles to the flags.
  • Drew a title image.
  • Drew many variations of button images.
  • Recolored the game to match my color palette.
  • Added the flag obstacles to the how to play.
